We’re here to support you during this difficult time

At Bell Brown and Bentley we completely understand that the loss of a pet is heart breaking. Pets very often become part of the family and are extremely difficult to replace. For that reason we never put an animal to sleep that we believe still has a means to life.

Euthanasia is the most humane solution in cases where animals are suffering. Our veterinary surgeons consider every case of euthanasia individually and will never unnecessarily put down an animal.

Before anything goes ahead you will have all the time you need to say your goodbyes. Your pet will then be given an injection that induces unconsciousness before stopping the heart. Your animal will be unaware that this is happening, and the process is over quickly and painlessly.

Over the years we often develop relationships with the animals we see, and the owners that accompany them. We want to help make this upsetting time as easy as possible so please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you would like to speak to a member of our team.

The nurses at all of our branches are always able to discuss the loss of a pet and what to do next. They can provide you with websites and helplines designed to ease the loss of a much loved pet.

If you have a pet that you don’t wish to bury, we offer a cremation service at Bell Brown and Bentley. This allows you to leave with your animal, big or small, and do with them as you wish.

We came to see Mr Bentley when our miniature daschund started losing her fur and looked as if she had a terrible skin condition. Mr Bentley tested her for every condition he could think of and took skin biopsies and did everything within his ability to try and find out what was wrong with her. He was very thorough, excellent in his research, excellent in his manner, excellent in his updates and results and prescribed the best medicines he could. Tilly dog is now almost 100% back to normal. Mr Bentley is certainly top of his field!
